I've been wrestling in high school for 3 years now and its my 4th and final year. I always loved wrestling but now I feel it is a waste of my time. I am not very good at it and because of this, I don't want to cut weight for the next three months. In the past I've put a lot of work into this sport, and it has gotten me no where. I feel it is time to move on, but its hard to leave the team. What should I do?

If you quit now you will regret it for the rest of your life. If you stick it out you will be glad you did. Besides, senior year is the best year there is in wrestling.

I would say don't quit. I'm in the music industry and have thought of quitting many times. It is very hard competitive work, the money isnt that good, people are thoughtless and mean, its stressful, I'm not 'the best' at it. BUT...... I do love doing it and can't think of anything I would rather do. After years at it, I've also learned that dedication and determination does mean something - and after the many times I've thought of quiting I found a new outlook which made me more successful. So don't quit when you feel down - take a new approach, lift up your spirits and you will do great. -J

Hey man, i'm in the same boat as you. This is my fourth year wrestling in high school too, and i absolutly hate it. I want out too, but i'm the sole senior on the team, and also the team captain so i really can't do anything, but I think you should tell your coaches you have other stuf you want to focus on and get out ASAP! I just can't wait till the season is over, cuz i will never step into a wrestling room again! Well good luck bro.

If you want to quit because it's just not something you like or enjoy doing anymore then yes, you should quit. There's no point in doing something that you don't like, you'll only end up resenting it.

If you want to quit because you think it's hard then no. Most people wouldn't have all that they do now if they gave up because they didn't like having to put in a little more effort than everyone else. Besides, you've already put 3 years into it.

If, this last year hang with it. One day you be telling your children of this. :-O Yes, you will probably go on to do greater things like make a baby or two, but, you may never get to wrestle again. Life, Work etc. it will fade into your past. Also, you never know, but, you may get a Scholarship for College?

Find an individual sport like running that you can do on your own time. This may fit your schedule better and serve you well later in life (also save your ears from becoming cauliflowers)

I think that if this is your last year with the team, you should stay on & complete your final year.

I would not do it. You may regret it later in life. Stick at it and you will be fine.
