The only difference that I have found is the number of people that you can put in the vehicle. In my experience, from the airport, they cost the same. When I traveled with my children (sometimes seven at a time) it was cheaper to hire a limo to travel from one airport to the next than the pay train fare. It was also more comfortable. And, with that large crowd, going to and from the airport was easier in a limo than parking etc.
As a rule most major cities have a limo service that has cars on standby for any time of the day. Busy services may require reservations.

Well a Limo is obviously more extravagant, and you must call ahead. A taxi is an anytime service that charges by the mile not by the hour. And of course you can drink and get smashed in a limo and not in a taxi.

a private assistant ought to be the flamboyant call for butt-wiper, between different responsibilities. certainly relies upon on the job description. If using for any of those jobs, ask to have each duty spelled out in writing (and, by employing the way, chauffeur is the kind you spell that motive force) so which you will understand what's predicted and while to charm to the line and say, wait a sec, that wasn't in my job description (except that's below "different responsibilities as could be assigned").
