I have 11 windows in my house, so I'm putting plastic up on 1 or 2 at a time. Are the south-facing windows more at risk for draftiness?

The coldest drafts come from the north, and northwest.
Do a simple test , making sure the curtain drapes and or shears are not in the way. Light a candle and go around the windows noting which ones cause the flame to move the most. There is where the plastic should go first. Remember it's not only the drafts in but also the drafts out. You can also check your electrical outlet this way too. Sometimes these can be more of a problem then the windows.

North, nothwest and northeast, in that order. A south wind is usually warmer. The north ones are coldest. From the east and north east means rain or snow.

Everybody has good ideas. If the windows are different sizes, cover the larger ones first.

Just duct tape the edges. Easier and you can still see out the windows.
