I got my ears pierced at Claire's in November and I'll be able to take the studs out just before the winter break. The information sheet said that for the first six months I have to wear "some kind of post-type earrings." What are those?!? Are they studs, or those earrings with hooks, or what?

that just means some kind of earring in general. don't go too crazy with the heavy kind and dont go even a day without wearing earrings for a few months (or else the holes will close)

They are the stud type earrings. I think it is so the hole doesn't get too small as it continues to heal up.

Posts are the rings that bypass in the present day via your ear and have a fastener on the back, like a stud. that's adversarial to the "hook" form which loop via your ear and grasp

There studs. Not hoops or anything dangly.

Post = Not clip-on. You're keeping the hole open.
