Download the patch from micrsoft burn it to CD and put the cd in your Xbox. Press OK. The patch is regularly updated and will make your xbox compatible with a host of old games. There is a list of games that it will work for also on the microsoft website.

Oh look just go to microsoft xbox360 website and read the instructions.

I have loads of old xbox games I play on me 360!

It's amazing how many people will answer a question without knowing the facts.

In fact, the vast majority of original Xbox games will play on the 360. There are only a few left that do not. You do need to get the pro system, or pony up the $100 for the hard drive so you can download patches and what not from Xbox. That is normal. Xbox had no way of putting every patch on the 360 when it was released to play every original Xbox. Microsoft was not misleading at all, that was common sense.

Check the backwards compatibility list to see if the game you have is on there.

That is one thing I pretty much hate about 360. You have to download the upgrades from microsoft's xbox website to play any of the old games.
Check the list first, as only a small amount of games from xbox cannot be played on the 360. Check back (I think monthly) for updates, new games are being added.

You should have went to www.xbox.com and look at the backward compatibility list before you buy the XBX game.

MS was very misleading when it said that the 360 was compatible with XBX games. In fact, it was a lie because there are very few XBX games that are playable on the 360.

The 360 uses a software emu for backward compatibility, so if the programmers didn't write the software emu for that game, you can't play it on the 360. Even the newest XBX games don't always work on the 360.

Well thats because that only a small amount of Xbox games can be played on the 360. I think you can only play the newest Xbox games on the 360.
