Hi there !
I would have been happy if you had asked this question to your consultant neo-natologist ...
If the childs father is "normal"...there is no problem..maximum that can happen is the child becoming "Thalassemia minor"...
If the father is "thalassemia minor" along with mother, the chance of the child becoming "thalassemia major" is high ..as high as 50%...
the present haematological values are okay..with mild anaemia...?...but get the opinion from the paediatrician too,,,
Maybe he will advise for further investigations...

If father does not have thalasaemia minor, than the baby will never have thalassaemia major. Your Paediatrician will in all probability prescribe iron for 3-4 months to your baby.
