area with water proof caulking solve this problem?

No it won't solve your problem, put ant killer in first, and then caulk it with water proof caulking

It might help stop them from coming in that area.. The other issue is trying to rid the wall or structure from the ant problem as a whole. They are very good at finding entrances. My suggestion would be to go ahead and caulk if its appropriate and maybe use a bait or other type ridding device. There are even some natural remedy type things.. Just type it in a search box on the internet regarding ant control

Caulking will help, but you also will need to kill the ants, or they will find another way to get to the area. I would recommend a good kitchen type caulk, so it will last, don't get the cheap stuff...

nope.. but you need to spread some grits and then kill them both inside and out then use that spray insulation.. cut then cover with caulk.. it works trust me oh and the grits are nontoxic to animals and kids.. that's why I say to use it.. people in the south use it

I would bring in an exterminator and setup ant traps, as well as clean every single day.
