Well, you could update the themes, but if you had a kind of Islamic overtaking of the US (which is the only way you could do a remake), you could easily inflame passions more than they are.

Agreed it was a good enough movie. But probably only a "plausible" storyline during the cold war against a powerful Soviet Union. Updating it would only be recycling an old story. I don't think it should be remade. It's doubtful that the performances could be improved upon.

Remaking Red Dawn would be like remaking The Outsiders. You just don't do it. Little known fact, Red Dawn was the first PG-13 movie.

Red Dawn was cinematic perfection. they should NOT ever re-make that movie. The all star cast, the story line, the cinematography, and the overall feel of the movie. It came around at the right time with thre right story, if they re-made it now, they would ruin the original.
