The most popular item of girls' clothing in the Sixties was probably the mini-skirt/dress. Also popular were brightly-colored tights, high, flat boots, simple, straight pinafores, short, frilly, little-girlish baby doll dresses. Hippie girls at the end of the decade generally wore unisex T-shirts, velvet pant suits, rustic dresses, flares. You might find this website useful: http://www.fashion-era.com/the_1960s_mini.htm

It was short short skirts and fringes .It was a fashion created by the 13 to 19 years olds. Not by Twiggy or Mary Quant. They jumped on the band wagon. In England it was roll neck or crew neck sweaters. The teenagers dictated the fashion and the music in the sixties.
Short dresses with empire waists were in.Thats a waistline that is just below the bust...and white panties were a must.

Back combed hair into a 'Beehive' and absolutely plastered with hair laquer. As for clothes - I never could understand what they called them, but they were very frilly.............. Also, very black eye-shadow was all the rave..........
