I am due to have my period on the 17 and I have had VERY thick white discharge. Is that normal? It is VERY thick and I noticed it when me and my hubby were having sex. Could it be a yeast infection or anything else. ( I am positive it is not an STD.. I am married and both of us are faithful) Or what else could it be from?

I wonder if you are pregnant. I have heard of many women getting thick white discharge throughout pregnancy. I am pregnant and have been lucky not to get this symptom, knock on wood.

i can't imagine that it would be a yeast infection. they are so itchy and uncomfortable. you would know it. call your doc.

good luck, nsm

If you aren't having anything else that goes along with an infection (burning, itchy, prickly sensations.....unusual odors, etc), then I would rule that out (although, only a doc can tell you for sure).

I will say this, though.......a few days after ovulation when I conceived my daughter (I was charting to know when I ovulated), I had the thickest cervical mucous (discharge) I've ever seen in my life. Even thicker than lotion...or pretty close to that consistancy. This just wasn't creamy...this was thicker. But, I didn't experience it that thick with my current pregnancy.

It could be a yeast infection. Or you could also be pregnant. Those are the only two reasons I can think of. If the problems persist, go to the doctor.. If it's a yeast infection you will want to get medicine right away they are icky, and not fun to deal with!

It could be the beginning of a pregnancy or it also could be the beginnings of a yeast infection....especially if you were on antibiotics recently. If worse gets to worse, make sure you go see a doctor, that way you'll find out for sure what's going on there. Best of luck to you.

hmmm.....I'm not sure...the only time I had thick white discharge was through my pregnancy. From very start to the very end.
