It depends, the PS3 has full multimedia capabilities and blue ray, but has a somewhat weak online setup. The 360 has a limited spectrum of games to chose from (mostly shooters at this point) but has a phenomenal online set up. The Wii on the other hand, is affordable, and user friendly ( virtually anyone can pick up the controller and play), but has a limited online experience and poor third party support (Not many publishers beside Nintendo making games for it).
So basically, if you have a bit of money, want your console to play movies, music, be able to download this content and more, and have fantastic graphics to boot, go with a PS3.
If you are looking for a fantastic online experience, tons of developer support, and some multimedia capabilities but can't afford the steep price of the PS3, the 360 is for you.
If on the other hand, you want fun, quirky, innovative controls and games, don't want to spend a lot of money, and don't care too much about online gaming, the Wii is your best bet.

PS3 is way too expensive so dont buy that. The Wii is tough to find in stores so if you want to wait then buy the Wii. If you want a console by christmas then get a 360 since their all in stock and easy to find. Good luck.
