Do I have to "Add funds" in my PayPal account before I can buy items on eBay, or will it automatically take funds out of my bank account?

I'm wondering this because my "Available Balance" currently says $0.00.

Hi, having no funds in your account only refers to when you sell something on eBay and people pay you with paypal (credit card). You can purchase items on eBay and most people take paypal, which just means that they will take the payment either from your bank account, or credit card. If and when you ever sell anything on eBay, the money they pay you will go into the paypal account, and when you pay for stuff online, it will automatically deduct that money. If you look carefully at each auction, there are also people who will accept money orders and cashiers checks for payment. Good luck and happy hunting! =)

I too have an e-bay account and a paypal account and as long as there are funds in your bank account it will automatically withdraw the funds. However you can choose to add funds to your paypal account if you want or sometimes it depends on the merchant's payment preference. I hope this helps!

You don't need to add money to that balance to purchase from eBay. You can set Paypal up so that it's linked with your credit card (s) and/or bank account (s). The money you spend on eBay will come from there.

If you have associated your PayPal account with your eBay account, you have the option of specifying where you want the money to be paid from when you win the auction.

I would suggest you protect yourself and your money by first reading the guide at:

before you proceed. That information has saved me literally thousands of dollars.
