Apparently is made from rocks older than our solar system so it is presumed that it wasnt here from the beggining. For example the maya calendar is based on Venus and some other cultures dont have the moon in their ancient sky maps. There are also some mathematical calculus that say that the moon is empty inside. A lot of speculation is related to the fact that one side of the moon is permanently invisible as the its rotation velocity is constant with the earth rotation velocity. Nevertheless I want too to know want the moon is REALLY made of.

Hi,
Well its made of the same Rock etc that the earth is made of, in fact it points to the fact that the Moon is a huge "part of Earth, or formed at the same time.
Water is a differant thing, the Moon has none(that we know of), and of course Gravity is far less, but other than that, its a peice of our world,
cheers

The Moon is a differentiated body, being composed of a geochemically distinct crust, mantle, and core. This structure and the compositional variations observed from orbit and among the samples are believed to have resulted from the fractional crystallization of a magma ocean about 4.5 billion years ago.

The moon is a rocky body that might have been once part of the earth. Its very similar to earth rocks but added to it millions of tons of dust resulted from meteorites hitting its surface and part of them penetrates inside its rocks.

Mostly various species of basalt and granite.
But, hidden deeply within its core, I suppose there *could* be a few pieces of green cheese âº
