Independent Party candidate Karen Hartley-Nagel explained she is a registered Democrat who has been endorsed by Independents for this election. The presence of her "fusion" candidacy has boosted discussions on campaign finance and ethics reform, she said. "Democracy is not a spectator sport," Hartley-Nagel said. "I am a fresh voice." She is currently running in the 2006 General Election for United States Congress
