Where did you buy your life? Did your mother tell you she bought you from a stork or something?
Er.....I don't know how to tell you this, but that's not where babies come from........................

Either you’re very young or you’re very misguided. Is there a price on the love you receive from people in your life or the love you give to them? What’s the cost when you see your baby for the first time? Do you have to pay for a hug from your child? Is there a fee when friends comfort you after you lose a loved one? What is the cost of a peaceful walk through a beautiful forest or watching a beautiful sunrise or sunset? If you’ve not realised that these are the best things in life, then you have my sincere sympathy. Certainly we all have to put a roof over our heads and food on our dinner tables but there is a huge difference between what we NEED and what we WANT. We NEED a warm place to live but we WANT 3000 sq ft with 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms with Jacuzzi tubs, showers, saunas, TV’s’ with playstation and satellite on each one etc etc. When we become consumed with materialism and what we WANT becomes what we NEED to make us happy and we become so misguided and caught up in materialism that we forget WHAT the best things in life are……….. then I guess you’re right. We have to buy our lives first so that we can understand that what REALLY gives us pleasure is not what we bought……… but those things we could not buy.

I should think you are refering to "living first" rather than "life first". Living is earned and not bought . Here earning would imply that you gave ( sold) your services and got something back. So you never buy living .
You imply that since the assumption is buying nothing comes free. Here again, there are many things that come free with life and living. Love , relationship, joy . But you shun those free things.

The best things in life are free - or at least not too expensive. Sex is the very best thing - and it's free to most of us (though we do have to work at getting it, even girls do). Next best thing? My next one is food and hot baths. Both cheap. And I like wearing clean clothes. Socialising is good - but a trip down the pub is not expensive. In this country most of us can afford these things, in other countries in the world this is not so easily obtained. We should think ourselves lucky and stop complaining. Obviously things like education cost money at degree level - but remember that you are 'buying' a privaleged life.

No. Unless you are physically born into slavery, you cannot "buy" your life. However, if you believe in Christianity, then you realize that you can never purchase something you can never own. You will forever continue to try, but never succeed. The best "things" in life are free, and the were first paid for by Jesus.

first of all, life cannot be bought, nor exchanged for money or any source of capital. secondly, some of the best things in life are for free, such as family, friends, love and friendship and happiness. life is not some commodity of which can be purchased. we all have life- human beings have their own lives. you can buy many things but love, happiness, respect and life in particular have no exchange value attached to them. these come within yourself and through experience and our lives. therefore, i don't agree with that statement

Most people in the western world do not have to buy their lives. There are human traffickers that "own" their victims, often female prostitutes, but I imagine that doesn't apply to you - luckily.
The best things in life are free, because you can't buy experiences, or happiness.

I think the saying 'the best things in life are free' refers to a rainbow or a sunset or moonlight with your girlfriend a smile that kind of smaltzy thing.
