He probably go the basics of his system from Islamic texts by al Tusi. Many figures in Copernicus' book are identical to those in al Tusi's.

Try looking him up under Nikola Kopernik. That was his real name. He was Polish of course. There is also a space education center/observatory called the Kopernik Space Education Center in central NY.
