I don't think so. I have several different Santa (although I perfer Father Christmas) figures decorating my home from a tiny half inch porcelin town figurine to a life size one by the front entrance). They are in several different colors (one being in beige/gold/pink plaid) and my favorites are: A blue and silver dressed, all white dressed and one in a green velvet flowing robe. I have neices and a nephew ranging from 5 to 13 and they seem to not be 'freaked out' by the different colors. The 13 year old even shares my favorite picks!

We have the 5 December variant of Santa. There's always as by appointment in the Media only One widely televised on different children's channels in Netherlands..... Our kids would not believe a blue Santa,,,,, They'd laugh at you over so much ignorance, and sing You are a Smurf.....
Santa however........ I believe kids are too busy with their presents to notice.... Purple Santa this year, like some years al Christmas trees are red Blue or purple.....

Apparently Father Christmas did used to be traditionally dressed in green (in the UK at least) but in one of the most successful ad campaigns ever, Coca Cola portrayed him in their company colours and it stuck. Or so I was told.

(edit) Seems it's true. See link (and others if you Google for "father christmas" +green

Nope, not at all. Kids are much more adaptable and flexible than adults. The adults would be more likely to freak out.

well, it depends on the age, I wouldnt tell a child the number of 911 or risk having a blue and green santa, but i9ts a good idea for Haloween though!
