Get a auto repair manual and read it . I recommend to take it to a shop .Because you could cause more problems if it is not done properly.I've replaced many of them and there not always easy to do .

If it's the original balljoint, it's riveted to the control arm. You have to cut the rivets with a chisel.

You need to clamp the spring with a spring compressor so the the suspension doestn't fly apart in your face and possibly kill you. This is NOT a joke.

Pull the brake caliper and hang it out of the way with a piece of an old coat hanger. Chisel off the rivets. Pull the cotter pin on the castle nut that retains it to the steering knuckle and remove the nut. You may need to use a separator to break it apart though tapping the mount eye with the round end of a ballpeen hammer may do the trick.

Installation is the reverse of removal. The replacement unit bolts in. Use the bolts that came with the new balljoint and tighten everything to spec with a torque wrench. Finish up with a front-end alignment.

You have to get a ball joint, separation tool. You have to hammer on it while holding it where the joint comes together.

The proper way is to get yourself a ball joint service kit. You can rent them from autozone, shucks, cragen, checker. or you can go to Harbor Freight and buy one pretty cheap. The job itself is pretty easy just get yourself a chiltons book and you should be able to handle it. Good Luck, Buy AMERICAN!
