I don't see any deeds as positive or negative, right or wrong, good or bad in an absolute sense.

1)A kills B - A is a killer in the eyes of the law but if B is proved to be a murderer, rapist and escaping the law etc then what would you say about A? doesn't his deed appear a good deed?
2)In the above example if A is an Soldier killing an enemy country soldier how does A appear - a hero Isn't he one ?
But how does the deed of A appear to the parents of B?
3) If A is dismissed from a job what can you say about the employer - Bad action isn't it ? But if A goes on to become successful and happy learning from this event - How does the action of his employer appear to us?
4) Somebody contracts cancer and goes to a Doctor - Does the Doctor not see an opportunity here to earn ??
All things are seen as positive, good, right, wrong, negative, bad etc from a certain perspective or context and cannot be absolutely termed to be so.
However it is important to recognize that there are laws in society which define right and wrong, good and bad and one cannot go breaking the law, stealing, killing people or doing things which are defined as negative actions by society. I would always advise respect for the law and acceptable behavior. The above explanation is from an absolute sense . Doesn't religion always preach that one should accept all happenings as caused for the good of the individual.
Hence just do your deeds - from your understanding of what is best or good and leave it to others to judge them. The motive is more important than the result or the way the result is classified

Well you can perform a service as part of a group where as you are just a cog in the wheel. Your part may be seen as neither good or bad and irrespective of the final outcome of the overall deed.

I think if we're referring to a deed, then yes, it has to be positive or negative for it to be a deed. But things like actions can be neutral...like breathing or blinking.
