If the p-value is 0.256 and the significance level is 0.05, what is the conclusion of the test?

Find the p-value if Ho: p = 0.4 , Ha: p < 0.4 and z = -2.15

since p-value is greater than significance level, you fail to reject the Ho (or in other words you accept the Ho).
0.256 > 0.05

Since the Ha is p < 0.4 this is a left-tail test.
The p-value = P(values less than z = -2.15) = 0.016
