Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the MOMENT the dems gained control of the House and Senate, the reps TOTALLY changed their stance of the War in Iraq? Or is it the War on Terrorism? Or is it the Liberation of Iraq? Oh wait, or is it the Search for Bin Hidin? I am sitting here listenting to REPS saying that we are LOSING the war in Iraq and that the president has spent far to much money. Two months ago, they were saying we were doing great in Iraq. Which is it?

Now there has been a change in power - people are able to say the truth without thinking they will be sacked / punished.

Even Bush has finally admitted that the war is being lost.

....and no, two months ago, there were still a LOT of people saying the truth - it just wasn't being listened to because the guys at the top making the most noise were still in "lie-mode".

Right now, GWB is a political leper. Know body in their right mind will align themselves with him, if they expect to hold favor with their constituency. The liberal media along with the shamless democrats are the ones making the most noise. The cowardly republicans who wish to remain in office are speaking out against US policy, like a complete 180 since election day.

Then there is the group of geriatrics who have put together a new plan, so they to have a legacy that will be read by our great grand children 100 plus years from now. Whether their plan has much merit, I like GWB, doubt it. I do so because their whole theme says nothing about victory, but it says a lot about appeasement and capitulation.

It does not point out who the enemy is and how and why he should be destroyed. They would rather leave mankind with this ongoing problem, after their deaths, than to help resolve this hideous problem while they are still alive. I am surprised by this, because these people represent the greatest generation; the people of WWII. They knew how important it was to achieve victory, yet they choose to ignore that prospect, instead they think we should negotiate with Ahmadinejad, the evil man behind all of the current middle east problems.

If they really want to achieve peace in the middle east, then they must destroy Ahmadinejad and Iran's nuclear complex. Only then will we see the middle east settle down and seriously negotiate with it's neighbors, which will include Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and also Hezbollah, the Palestinians the Kurds, and Turkey.

Yippie you noticed how both sides flip-flop. hipocracy runs on both sides. Now it's just decided the lessor of two evils. Both sides bend or omit to suit their purposes. It's not just on the war but almost all of politics. I don't claim to know all! I myself have been less then accurate about some of my assements. However here is a few more things to pounder on....
Republicans had the congress and the whitehouse but Welfare still exists. Most republican population is against welfare. So why does it still exist.
All the justices sitting on the US supreme court have been appointed by republican presidents. Why does abortion still exist? Most republicans are pro life.
Clinton lied under oath and was impeached. Why didn't he leave office? Why did he stay when Nixon got the boot?

There are a bunch of bills that were not passed. Left for the next office. So are the democrats going to raise taxes because the Republicans left it for them or are they just going to raise taxes cause that's why they do best.

I think reality has sunk in for many of them. Some of them still sound like parrots - the whole "cut and run" thing for example. It seems that any alternative action other than the current mess is being referred to as cut and run by the diehards. New idea? It must mean cut and run. Any deviation for troop deployment? Cut and run. Really, they need a new catch phrase.

But, it seems like most Republicans are finally (though grudgingly) admitting the current course is a disaster. It has taken them so long to see the forest AND the trees that in retrospect it makes one wonder what it takes to get through to the Bushies.

It doesn't matter - because personal opinions are not important in politics. What is important is getting votes. Therefore you can change your values, even your whole ideology if it will get you voted into office. The republicans have noticed that the war in Iraq is not only very unpopular but it is an abject faliure, so suddenly they're all trying to distance themselves from it.

It's both, now Bush says that was his plan all along, just like Rumsfeld's revisionist 'memo' that leaked out. They want it both ways, but the American voter has finally stirred from his[her] long sleep to sweep out the trash, can't wait for '08!

I know what you are saying..I guess we just have to be content with their changeing views,,We are not gonna hear them eating crow as they should be.. They've been acting like our views were tantamount to treason and now they hold very similar views and acting like this was their view all along. like they never thought Bush was the greatest president since since the invention of fire..Come on Repubs..Give us some credit here...But I'll settle for getting the ---- out of that hell hole ASAP.

Now that the Republicans are no longer in control they are forced to tell the truth about the "war" that they invented.

Here are some words to live by. If you're going to believe a politician, do so AFTER he wins re-election.
