I have learned to accept people as they are and choose whether or not I want them in my life. If they make me feel better about myself or have a positive influence on my life, they become friends. Otherwise, they remain casual acquaintences.

Honestly, I don't always accept the faults of others. Sometimes I am probably too critical but I often get reminders that people are individuals and that I should not expect them to do things as I would do them.

I don't expect perfection but I guess I do expect them to do their best. Sometimes it seems their best is not good enough but then maybe I need to be satisfied with that effort. But sometimes it drives me up the wall!

How could you have any fun, if you couldn't rip on your friends faults? Perfection would be boring.

Perfection is boring. Other people's faults are just as amusing as mine.

if i have personally overcome that fault, i expect them to be able to do the same. for example, i just gave up a pack-a-day smoking habbit. i quit cold turkey and have been clean for 2 months now! if find it hard to believe when someone tells me they 'just can't do it'. its all in the mind.
