he's made a decent trade here or there....didn't he make the trade that brought in Jason Bay and the one that got Freddie Sanchez? His farm system produced Zack Duke and if im not mistaken, theres a few good guys on there way up. Although, I admit Jon Lieber is a bad idea.

Image. It's hard to sell tickets when you're telling your fans that you don't care to reinvest their hard earned money they're spending on your team. At least if you TRY to go after a solid veteran (and a name people recognize, even if they're past their prime) or two, you're saying you're trying to put a competitive team on the field, even if some of the moves are misdirected.
