I agree with doubtful, but I usually repeat the word up to 3 times till it sticks to my head, even if I was supposed to memorize a poem, what I would do is reapeat the first 3 verses 4 or 5 times and the same goes tot the next 3 verses then read out the whole 6 verses and voila! I've memorized it!
good luck!

My personal strategy is to write anything down that I know I need to remember. Even if I dont have the note with me, since I wrote it down I am more likely to remember it than if I had just heard it. Most people are these types of learners: visual, auditory, kinesthetic. If you are visual, and someone tells you something, you are very likely to forgoet it. If you are auditory and read something, same thing. The goal is to figure out what you are and try to make sure all things you need to memorize are dealt wth in that way. So since I know I am visual and need to see something written down, I write everything.

Hope this helps.

find something that relates to name or words. i do it with my son all the time for spelling tests and names of relatives. lol..you break the word down into parts sylaballs ..with names i relate them to places or schools i went to or if that person did something to stick out in my mind then i use that to recall that name as well. try it and i hope it works for you.
