One of my relatives told me they've bought my eldest son (who's 3) Bambi for Christmas. I've only ever seen it once when I was 5 and BOY once was enough!! That scene where they shot Bambi's mother still haunts me to this day lol.

3 may be too young, but that's totally up to you. I think 5-6 sounds right. You should let them watch it at some point early in their lives, though, and you should watch it with them and stop and talk about the scene with them. Let them know that sometimes things like that happen and that God takes care of His own. Also, help them to understand that Bambi is only a make-believe story. Don't dwell on the death scene, but allow them to ask questions and talk about it if they want to. Help them to focus on the message of life that follows the death. It could be a great educational experience for them.

Hey,
your kids should be able to watch Bambi, but you have to ready to explain to them why things like the scene when Bambi's mother is shot happens to them if they ask questions. Anyway, It woill teach them about life and death, something you'll have to tell them about sooner or later.

Let your son watch it. I watched Bambi all the time when I was younger. I didn't cry until I was older and realized what happened. It's a Disney movie. Let him watch it.

Yes. They don't actually show here getting shot so if your kids are still young just telling them Bambbi took a wrong turn. Otherwise just tell them its part of lie and oh well. Ps I'm only 13 and not good with kids.

Its sad, but you know, there are not so many childrens movies that really tell it like it is, and that is part of life. Life is never all sugar coated, and one day, they will know the truth of life and death. What about in Lion King, when Mufasa is murdered by Scar.?????? But its up to you.

I think so, I mean it's not like they show guts or anything so I think it would be fine to let them watch.
