I did not know that. although the name Charlotte is known in the South Carolina's. Maybe because a white person wrote a story about the female of Charlotte. just a guess. and are their any black writers who have their version of Charlotte? What is she like, I would read of her from the black author point of view. please write of her . Thank You.

Has not been proven that she was black. She may have been biracial but so what. All of the Uppers were painted when they were heavily made up and powdered. Who knows what she really looked like. Racists see racism in everything.

Queen Charlotte the wife of English king George 111.....she was descended from Margarita de castro y sousa, which was a black branch at a Portuguese royal house....seems that Charlotte was of African ancestry....th artist wh painted her was told to play down her black features, but she was still very beautiful regardless of her colour in the eyes of George 111

"Descended from the warlike vandal race, she still preserves that title in her face. Tho shone their triumphs o'er numidias plain and alusion fields their name retain; but subdued the Southern world with arms, she conquers still with her triumphant charms o! born for rule to whose victorious brow the greatest monarch of the north must bow. This was written for Queen harlotte.
