Which of these scenarios would you choose?
1) You just barely get your bills paid, but you really and truly enjoy your job and the people you work with.
2) You are well paid, but you dread going in every day and many of your coworkers are jerks of one kind or the other.

Why spend your life in Hell when you don't have to. Horizontal work violence can cause all kinds of health problems.I think the peace of mind that I would have working at a job I love would be compensation enough. Never mind the money. I worked at a job for twenty years went back to school to obtain two degrees to take a lower paying job that I love. Guess what! I will live stress free long enough to enjoy it.

I'll definitely choose: 1) You just barely get your bills paid, but you really and truly enjoy your job and the people you work with.
To me, it's so hard to live in a place with people I'm not feeling comfortable with. The most important thing to me is to like the people I'm working with, I'll love work because of them, they'll always be there for me and maybe they can encourage me to work better.... and why not get a promotion?? :)

I've been in both situations & for me this is the most satisfying:
1) You just barely get your bills paid, but you really and truly enjoy your job and the people you work with.
There are more important things than $$$$$$$$$$ :)

if you truly enjoy your job, you'll do it better. In the long run, you will likely get bonuses, raises and/or promotions which will help pay the bills
If you try and do a job you don't like, it's more than likely you won't give it your "all". It will show up in the performance of that job and in the long run, that's not good.

I believe that job happiness goes a long way.. If you consider that although you are barely paying bills. at least you ARE paying bills. and due to no stress or discontent at work, it won't carry over to that aspect of your life. conversely if you are miserable at work, you may be miserable in life and not even think about paying bills cuz of mundanity of it and just not wanting to go through with it.

I would choose 2 just cause of the money. I would ignore the other coworkers also.
