I would have to agree with previous answer about slippery elm lozenges . They work the best . There is also zinc lozenges that work good but are much harsher to handle. I LOVE throat coat tea and I put honey in it ...It works great

yeah well im singer in this band right?well sometimes after band practice for hours it'll be like my chords are all "dried out".I just need to know how to get you know a natural way to soothe out my chords =)

There are lozenges called Slippery Elm you can get in most health food stores..it's a natural anti-inflammatory. I use it a lot in public speaking.

Slippery Elm bark (Ulmus rubra) helps to soothe sore throats or cough. The tree grows in the eastern part of the United States and Canada. The inner bark of the tree contains mucilage, a gel-like substance that swells when it is mixed with water. Mucilage coats the throat and reduces irritation.
For sore throats, slippery elm bark can be taken as a tea. To make the tea, add 1 tablespoon of dried bark to a cup. Pour 1 cup of boiling water into the cup. Steep it covered for at least 10 minutes and then strain. Have up to 3 cups of slippery elm bark tea a day. Dried slippery elm bark can be found in bulk in some health food stores.
Another option: slippery elm lozenges. They can be found in health food stores or in the natural food section of some supermarkets. A popular brand of slippery elm lozenges is Thayer's. Suck on a slippery elm lozenge to help ease sore throat pain.
Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) is another good sore throat remedy, however it should not be used by people with high blood pressure, heart, kidney or liver disease, pregnant or nursing women, or people who are taking diuretics, blood pressure drugs. Licorice overdose (symptoms of overdose include headache, muscle weakness, and swelling) can cause heart failure, high blood pressure, or a muscle condition called rhabdomyolysis.
Licorice is a main ingredient in the herbal teas Throat Coat (Traditional Medicinals) and Throat Comfort (Yogi Teas), along with slippery elm and other herbs.
Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis), a herb found in Europe and North America, has been used for centuries as a sore throat home remedy. Like slippery elm, it also contains mucilage which helps to soothe sore throats. To make marshmallow root tea, add 1 tablespoon of the dried root to a cup. Add a cup (8 ounces) of boiling water, steep it covered for at least 10 minutes then strain. Drink up to 3 cups a day.
Consult a doctor before taking marshmallow if you take insulin or have diabetes, as it may make your blood sugar too low. Marshmallow may also slow the absorption of other drugs if they are taken at the same time.
Honeysuckle Flower, a sweet-tasting and smelling herb, is one of the most commonly used sore throat remedies in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) as a remedy for sore throats. Honeysuckle flowers aren't as easy to find in stores as slippery elm and marshmallow. Besides health food stores, Chinese herbal shops often carry it.
To make honeysuckle tea, bring 1 quart of water to a boil. Add 1 cup of honeysuckle flowers (not the leaves). Steep for at least 10 minutes, covered, and then strain. Sweeten with honey or stevia to taste if desired. Drink up to 4 cups a day.
Ginger tea (Zingiber officinale) Here is a recipe for ginger tea. Ginger tea recipe
Lemon, Apple Cider Vinegar, Cayenne and Honey Tea. An old home remedy for sore throats. Add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, a pinch of cayenne pepper, juice of 1/4 a lemon, and 1 teaspoon of honey to a cup. Add 1 cup of hot water and stir. Drink up to 4 cups a day.

My friend is a singer and every time before she sings she drinks pickle juice. It sounds nutty but it keeps her voice from cracking and smooths her transitions from note to note.

just make a habit of drinking a lot of water and avoid drinkin coffie coz it will dehydrate your body........belive me im also a singer.
