hello, I am neew to guitar playing and I want a guitar that I wont just throw away in a year...does a $300 to $400 dollar electric guitar meet those requirements?

I know of two quality guitars that you can easily find within that price range. One of them will be a Fender Telecaster. It is durable, and reliable. The other one is a Gibson Epiphone. A Gibson Epiphone Les Paul Standard would even be ideal. There are a few places that do sell the Les Paul Standard within your price range. Both of these guitars are well built and have great sound. If you are looking for a bright sound, try the tele. For a deep rich sound, try the Gibson.

A standard Fender Stratocaster or Telecaster in that price range is a great guitar!

yes, i just bought one and they're mighty fine & dandy!. but dont waste an extra $100 on a gay looking flying-v. those suck. :) but a 300-400$ guitar can sound very swell, just remember to buy an amp!

price isn't sole indicator of quality, you might be getting ripped off.
