My mom sprained her ankle and even after two months, it wasn't getting any better. The doctor corrected the way she was walking and it healed faster. Sprain ankles don't heal overnight.. It takes time. You need to stop walking so much and use cruthces.
If you're not fully healed, don't continue playing sports because you could injure yourself twice as bad and it'll take even longer to heal. I run track and field and I sprained my ankle once.. and everyone was pushing me to practice and told me "you aren't going to get any better if you just sit there." I decided to take it easy and it healed fast. On the other hand, my other friend kept running when her ankle hurted and she wasn't able to participate in the events all season because it never healed until the season ended and she stopped running. If you want it to heal fast, then the best thing is to fully rest your ankle.

I presume you've seen a doctor, right? The best thing for a sprained ankle is rest. If you try to do too much while it's not properly healed you could inflict more severe injury to your ankle.

I recognize you do not wish to listen to this...however my pal is this type of sporting events addict as of approximately two years in the past, and given that she simply randomly began move nation walking and cycling within the wooded area close her apartment, using three days every week (horses) monitor practices three days every week, (sundays she is going for additional runs and motorbike rides) and not using a earlier coaching earlier than that besides for infrequent runs external her as soon as every week using courses and college monitor practices (she is this type of enthusiast...I do not see how she does it however...) she sprains her ankle(s) at least one time a month. SPRAINS NEVER HEAL COMPLETELY. her mother is a nurse and continuously reminds her of that, she wears a tensor/ace bandage, and an ankle brace, on each and every ankle whether or not its sprained or now not (heavier ones for whilst theyre honestly sprained) in view that she used to be so reckless (and she or he's correct right here as I variety this lol, however she's busy ranting approximately how her horseshow used to be cancelled in view that of rain lol) she ended up strain fracturing an already sprained ankle gambling volleyball, (and she or he sprained it for the duration of baseball). the one factor she will do now could be trip. No distance walking or sprinting, no cycling, simply using, in view that it is the most effective factor that does not harm it. She is probably not fully healed till the top of September, and has to spend her cash that almost always is going to horse stuff, on physio. This is conserving her again from the 800 m provincials. the outcome sucks...it'll heal so much much less when you play...and even though she nonetheless excercised, nonetheless rode, nonetheless went to monitor meets and horseshows, she regrets it, in view that the everlasting suffering and affliction from braces and tensors holds her again. (she additionally has Osgood-Shlatters Disease and has to put on two kneee braces on each and every knee even as walking and cycling) pass forward and play, simply be rather cautious approximately whether or not or now not you may have earlier sprained it. observe from pal: "I might like to mention that Jamie's being dramatic...which probably the wording makes it appear like that, however sure I am very harm inclined... however no suffering so long as I'm dressed in the braces...however she's correct, sprains under no circumstances heal. I roll over on my ankle, it hurts for hours or days, if I shuttle, equal factor. BE CAREFUL..."

Did you have an X-ray? Often a hairline fracture or joans fracture can mimic a sprained ankle...take about 4 - 6 week to heal if you don't do anything stupid...I'm going on 4 months with mine...stupid is as stupid does.

Are you positive it's just a sprain?
Do the elevated foot, alternate cold, hot pack thing.
If it still doesn't improve, it could be a hairline fracture--difficult to detect.
