as a lifelong liverpool fan of 35 years i`m curious why my fellow supporters are so pissed off my man utds more recent success, they in my oppinion have been the greatest team in the land ever, we as true reds should put our petty differences aside and learn from our more illustrious neighbours, ok we`ve won more european cups but i for one would swap them all for the league again. If we do build a new stadium with the saudies money will it be able to hold the same capacity as old trafford?

How can you call yourself a liverpool fan!I don`t think you have looked at the past records of the 2 clubs in any detail and then come to the conclusion that the mancs are the better! This arguement will never go away as there will always be anamosity between the 2 cities.Between 1970 to 1990 the man u supporters felt the same way as we do now because we were winning everything,at least we won the champions league again as well as the fa cup last season which gives us all hope that with the right investment we can again win the league again and settle the score once and for all!COME ON YOU REDS L.F.C

And you say your a Liverpool Fan. Then you should know why.
It's simply because UTD fans think they are the greatest because they have won more trophies than us in recent years BUT!!!! They have never won 5 in 1 year (far enough they weren't the biggest ones but silverware is silverware) and we are the most successful british club ever. actually the 2nd most successful in the world after R Madrid. we won the Champions League more than any of the other british clubs put together. 18 league trophie, 7 fa & league cups, 13 charity shield, 6 super cups etc etc

First, its the Emirates that want to buy Liverpool, not the Saudis.
Second, Man United is a team that had their golden era in the 90's and that era is over. Liverpool is still struggling to get back into the position they once had a few decades ago. Chelsea seem to be dominating english football these years... That is the problem with the Brits. One team dominating, to make it a weak and boring league, and they all tumble in the European championships.

Liverpool fans are living in the past.
They are probably the most inconsistent team in the premiership. They are living off of past glories and you will always hear Liverpool fans talk about the number of European Cups etc. That doesn't mean anything these days if they cant win anything now.
With Benitez in charge, Liverpool will never be a big team again. He doesn't have a clue how to win the premiership and I feel sorry for Liverpool fans having so much promise only to be left dissapointed and empty handed when it comes to the league.

It's a long-standing dislike, stemming from the War of the Roses, and opposite sides of the Pennines.

I support Leeds, and like Liverpool also, but Man Utd are one of my least favourite teams. I don't like their Manager, Fergy, as he waits for players to get to their peak and then poaches them from the teams that are doing well, thus knocking them back down. They have too much money and are too arrogant. Same goes for Chelsea, although I prefer Chelsea because they are quieter about their conquests.

I hope Liverpool catch up to Man Utd this season. They're going well.

Good luck! :-)

You are talking rubbish - I am a massive Liverpool fan - and I am in no way pissed off with Man U's recent success.... they have played very well and they deserve to be where they are.

Liverpool have not played consistently well and therefore are not where Man U are....

I have no idea what you mean about putting petty differences aside - I enjoy Liverpool when they are playing well and moan about them when they don't.

You really should check your facts before you make such sweeping statements about a whole group of people

I find it difficult to believe you support liverpool and are talking like that. To begin with, you are hardly 'neighbours'. I support Arsenal so I'm not especially bias but I'm with man u all the way this season. Anything but chelsea.

wow, a liverpool fan who finally speaks some sense. these arab guys aren't gonna give you the same liberties with their money as abramovich does but you'll get a huge cash injection each year

as for new stadium, i think it's supposed to hold 60-70 thousand, united's holds around 75,000 and there's word of extending it

Good on you for admitting you can learn stuff from man utd...that doesn't mean I like them though. I'm a gunner all the way. And my answer to your question is you're probably the only other football fan who has swallowed his (?) pride and admitted to being bested by another team. The first step to improvement is acceptance.
