I've seen some really nice manufactured homes that are competative to other housing developments in the area. Do you think that manufactured homes can stand up to the price tag?

Some of them. From experience, avoid Fleetwood. They're very nicely priced, but poorly made. The one I'm living in now is about 10 years old, and carefully cared for by the original owner, but there are weak spots in the floor and the "wallpaper" is obviously peel-and-stick, and isn't attached well. Also, my bro-in-law used to sell them, and he said the floor upgrade you pay for isn't worth it, they just put a "little" thicker plywood in!

No although I agree some look very nice.I'm sure Id rather be in a regular home in case of a sever storm.I grew up in Oklahoma where there are lots of tornado's and trust me the trailers and manufactured homes are the first to go.
Now pre cut homes are different, they are just reg homes that fit together like a puzzle. They last too.
