No one can force you to go. Just keep telling them you're not going and that's final. If you lose them over this then they weren't your friends to start with. Friends don't MAKE you do things you don't want to do unless it's to save your life.

homecoming can be fun..if you really and truely dont want to go cause you think its dumb then dont go..if your not going because of other reasons your really missing out. all i want to say to you is that you shouldnt miss homecoming because you have no date yet or you think its not cool to go alone with friends..there will most definately be others there in same boat as you and homecoming is a special time in school. once its gone ya cant get it back. if you really dont want to go though just be honest with your friends, tell them maybe youll get together afterwards and leave it at that .

All that your friends are trying to do is to help you have a good time. Why don't you want to go? If you already know that answer, then tell your friends the reason why you don't want to go. Saying "because it's stupid" is not very detailed, let alone not very nice. You don't have to do anything if you don't want to.

I didn't go to prom and I kept my friends. If they dump you as a friend just cuz you don't want to go then what kind of friends are they? Forcing you to do something you don't want to? Suggest that you guys can hang out the next day together doing something really special and rare that you never did together. Don't let them make you do something you'll be uncomfortable doing or just don't want to do.

I didn"t go to my senior prom and I've regretted it ever since. Even if it seems stupid,go and i bet you have a great time with your friends. Pretty soon high school will only be a memory and you'll be in the real world. Have as much fun as you can while you can.

Homecoming is meant to be a recreational celebratory occasion, not a lynching or witch-hunt. Put on some nice clothes and join your friends.... they obviously care more about you than you care about them. THAT'S AMAZING.

Just tell them you really are taking a pass on this one. Although it is a big part of high school to take part in extra-curricular activities, it is your call.

go to your mom and tell her you need a good reason to get out of going... put the monkey on your moms back... once you and your mom come yp with a reason why... it being you moms fault you cant go... then your friends cant blame you... its called good cop... bad cop

Let you mom be the bad cop in this situation... there may be a time when she needs to get out of something and she might need you to return the favor.... me and my husband do this all the time... when we seem to get roped in to doing something we don't want to do... its the polite way to get out of something... when someone else isn't going to let you go... hopw this makes sence and helps...

Tell them you're not going and that's that. Let them know you don't want them to get mad at you, but you have made up your mind.
