In asking for your opinion, we are really looking for an reassurance of what we believe ourselves about how we look. Our 'going mental' is a reaction to a in-congruence between what you think and what we think-don't sweat it, no-one is a mind reader! But take some subtle clues from our face, if we are beaming we know/think we look good, it is not a good idea to disillusion us at this stage with a negative comment, however, if we are looking anxious or uncertain it is best to go with the truth, it may get a dodgy response but usually if we are uncertain it means we really don't look good. Just try to be subtle with criticism, e.g the red one really brings out your beautiful shape as opposed to you look like a bus in that.

Great question. It seems from many of the answers that women would rather believe a lie than have to deal with the truth. Is that why some are drawn towards feminism???

You have to make a smart word selection
Dont say : "You look lovely today!"
She may say :" Only today? Didn't I look nice yesterday or the day before...?" ghrrrr Here it starts...
Say: "Honey, you look beautiful as always...I am more and more in love with you ... " or some **** like that
Also note that you have to say it with a proper tone of voice, very seriously and convincing...Look depley into her eyes, then maybe a little sigh...:P
Plus it is not women's being troublesome or something...some men have not had proper TRAINING, thats all...

it's one of those trap questions. If you refuse to answer, they'll argue with you, if you say one word wrong of what they want to hear, they will yell at you. The best way is to answer in 5 or less words, and when they (and they will) ask what you like about it (if you're say, shopping and she's trying something on), snap back quick with something like "the color is great on you." This doesn't work all the time, but often enough :)

Patriarchal oppression I imagine. According to feminist academics that is the cause of all trouble in relationships, especially domestic violence. I'll have none of this "honesty is the cause" stuff. Obviously you were patriarchally abusive in some way with your honesty and she was acting out against her oppression, valiantly of course.

Because these women are looking for reassurance. If you dont want to be shouted at next time, tell the woman that she looks lovely. But not if she looks terrible! If she looks bad just be diplomatic about it!

Try this.
Look at her very carefully, screw your face up as if you're thinking and nod wisely. Take her hand and say,
" You look lovely M'lady".
She will know that you are lying and taking the p*ss,
But a pound to a pinch, she'll give you a kiss.

Ahhh Marcus, because we are fishing for compliments! Next time try these phrases -
"Yes you look lovely in it"
"The colour suits you"
"I'm proud to be your other half, you look so lovely"
"No, it does not make your bum look big dear"
Remain enthusiatic at all times, and say it as if you mean it. Also repeat several times thoughout the day and in a loving fashion....
Lol, good luck!

If a woman ask that type of question, just be positive. Most women that always ask questions like that are wanting your approval
