how clean?

how clean shud u be round a baby? like u have to sterlise everything right? but whats the point when a child is rolling round the floor and then putting her hands in her mouth?

you only need to sterilize things when the baby is a new born. no need to do it after a few month if the baby can move around by herself..

The baby no matter how clean you are they will always be fascinated in touching the dirty things, especially when you said no, to them. So I don't know how clean you could be when the baby start to roll on the floor. I tried to be cleaned when my children was growing up but I noticed that they were sicked most of the time, so I let them and they never been sicked since then. I guess they need to be resistant to dirt too. So don't be pricking clean with them, just a motherly advice.

I think youre okay if you get the carpets shampooed and don't wear shoes in the house. Keep the carpet vacuummed at least every couple of days. I'm a neat freak so I sterilized the kitchen and bathroom weekly anyway. I tried to keep dust off of things to cut down on the allergens also. I kept in mind she will get sick eventually.

babies can catch things really easy that is why they say wash your hands, don't sneeze and things while you are around a baby, you know all this stuff can cause the baby to get sick. and you wash your hands a lot like really well at least if you are going to touch them without a blanket or something

My father-in-law is a microbiologist (ie expert in germs) and my husband and his siblings all have excellent health, which he puts down to letting them all roll in muck as babies!
