Go into your router setup and check the status screen. It will tell you if it's connected or not. As the previous poster said, Comcast may need to know the MAC address of your router (or simply tell it to clone your PC's MAC address) in order to work..

Normally when you purchase a new Cable Modem Comcast needs the serial & mAC # in order to activate it. It has nothing to do with your router.

Try to reset your router using a pen. There is a small reset
hole , keep the pen 1 minute. Reboot all PC and see what happens. If it does not work contact me and I will do it for you remotely.

COMCAST uses the MAC address of your computer in order to verify the connection. You have to open your router's control panel (http://192.168.1.1 in most cases), and tell it to CLONE your PC's MAC address. Once you do that, COMCAST will think your router is your computer, and your internet will work fine.

try unplugging your modem for a few moments, in order to reset it. This happens to me all the time.
