Exfoilation is the key to helping any product you use absorb into the skin. Not sure if you are talking about your face or your body but you can find products in the drug store to help you.

Using a loofah or sponge daily when you bath or shower helps your body flake off the old dry skin so fresher new skin is exposed. Using a mild exfoilation every couple of days for the face is good too. Be sure to get one for your skin type.

I really like Olive Oil & Shea Butter to help with dryness. If your skin is itchy & irritated than the Aveeno Products offer those additional curative benefits.

Start drinking lots and lots of water. Hydrating your skin will be another very important thing to do.

If none of these suggestions help than I'd definitely go see a Dermatologist.

Hope this helps.

If you're showering everyday, do it every couple or so days. It can cause the scalp and skin to dry out. Moisturize and use lotion everytime to get out of the shower or when needed. Use a good healing brand and nothing with a scent or something. Two good lotions I can think of are Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion[Dermatologist Recommended], and St.Ives 24 Hour Moisture for Dry Skin. See a dermatologist if it gets worse or you're doing everything you possibly can and nothing it working. Hope this helps!

If you live where it is cold enough to use a furnace or keep your doors and windows closed you will lose moisture from your skin. If you take hot showers that also takes oil and moisture out of your skin. Try using a humidifier for your home, it can be a pain to keep it filled but it will be worth it. Also try using a shower gel or bath soap that has moisturizing cream in it such as Dove. You can also try a good moisturizing hand cream (may be a bit pricey but again worth it) since you tend to wash your hands a lot throughout the day. Hope this helps, good luck.

You must exfolliate the dry skin and then apply a good moisterizer to the new skin. I recommend Mary Kay's microdermabrasion set for exfolliating your skin. It will also immediately improve the appearance of your skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and will refine pores. Follow with Mary Kay Intense Moisterizing Cream or Enriched Moisterizer. Use a gentle cleanser such as the Gentle Cleansing Cream or the TimeWise Age-Fighting Cleanser for dry skin.

Good lotion can help with dry skin. Also, where is the dry skin? If it's on your face and you use acne care that could drying out your skin so don't use it as often. If it's on your hands it could be the time of year or possibly washing your hands a lot? so just try and use good hand creams or face cream or w.e. My sister like Vaseline.

Look for a facial line specifically designed for dry skin. The Body shop has a grapeseed line, made for dry skin that has a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, scrub, etc.

You need a really good moisturizer specifically for dry skin.

I really like the ones that have Shea Butter in them, but another good one is Aveeno's Postively Smooth Facial Moisturizer. It does have the extra benefit of diminishing the appears of facial hair (on women , of course), but I use it b/c it's the best moisturizer I've ever used!

Buy a good moisturizer. I use Cetaphil, and it works great. It keeps your skin moisturize all day long.
