Well i know he was studying to be a clergyman originally, yup, its true. He always had a profound interest in the natural world and in all its creatures. He was invited to take time off and sail the world on the Beagle. Here he was placed in charge of documenting wildlife and all they saw. He read a book by a gentleman named Lyell, this book talked alot about geographic time and darwin then realised that the earth could not be only 6000 years old as the bible stated, so he changed his entire life and dedicated it to the study of natural selection and adaptation.
Him and wallace develoed the same theory about natural selection at the same time, but darwin beat him to the punch.

he is now known as the father of evolution, he has an island in the Galapagos named after him (darwin Island), and he has many followers in the scientific community.

hope this answers your question!

yes, it's about evolution. He studied a group of birds on an island, looking at how the beaks and such changed with each generation. The better equipped the beak was the more likely for that bird to survive and reproduce, passing it's beak onto it's children. There's a lot more to it then that though... there's also a joke... "Darwin's theory in action" is used when someone does something that would require a "hay y'all, watch this!" kind of thing.

Yes, he had a Beagle that turned into an old turtle or something like that. Maybe he swam on the beagle and they liked tutle soup, yeh that's it. Then he discovered God and turned the Galapagos Islands into Heaven, or something like that. But if the turtle saw his shadow , there would be 100 more years of evolution.
