Yes, it is true that intolerance among individuals, communities or nations appear to be increasing because of which animosity or hatred is gaining space instead of friendliness, understanding, or helpfulness. In fact, it is the later qualities or attributes that differentiate humans from animals. Now, if this observation is correct, it is mainly on account of false ego, selfishness and sence of insecurities. These characteristics are gaining strength principally on account of excessive population, increasing gulf between haves and have nots and also unbriddled desire to possess. Tendency of excessive possessiveness, unlimited consumerism, and utter lack of concern for fellow beings or non-existance of feeling that others also have right to exist are the main reasons behind this phenomena of intolerance. Unfortunately, religions have failed to curb this tendency. Perhaps, increasing education, availability of more resources and opportunities ( owing to better technology and administration) and decline in population will, it is hoped drive humanity to humaneness.

all killings and every hatred are not due to religions. where ever it can be attributable to religion, it is not the fault of the religion, but due to wrong understanding of it. not recognising the fact that every other religion also has a different solution to the same spritual or secular problem can cause the hatred. ignorance and excessive attachment to one's religion against its own tenets also could be the cause of the hatred. better understanding of religions and fruitful dialogues between religions can possibly reduce the ill effects.

No, it's because of Blind Faith.
Religion is just a symptom of people having Blind Faith in systems, getting coerced by systems into desires for more than they need, and then competing for resources without a clear goal in mind for the species.
As long as we are competing with Nature's systems that provide us with Life, we are committing violence against ourselves first, long before we attack each other.
Until we treat the soil with the same honor we give to poets, politicians, and priests, we will fail to know who we are and how to get along.
The human consumption of resources has already gone way beyond the point that can be corrected without dieoff. There isn't enough time, resources, or desire to do anything but compete amidst the diminishing state of our planet until the world as we know it is gone, and something else replaces it, with or without rational, cooperative behavior.
Religions increase competition by creating imaginary resources to fight over. Money increases violence even more by removing direct respect for the work that creates useful wealth and assigning numbers to the value of people and resources. When we allow the people with control of the numbers to make decisions as though the people don't matter (unless they immediately die), it's called "Economics".

In a fashion everybody rejects relgion for occasion in case you grow to be a christain then you've reject all different relgion mutually with Islam, Scientology, Hindu etc. EDIT @ chris How can very few people be stored if all you're able to desire to do is "have faith this and you'd be in heaven, no remember what!" All christains belive in Jesus and that he died on the bypass and payed for there sins. ANd christianity is the biggest relgion on the 2d. If it replaced into that user-friendly then why is it that merely some people are stored

It's because of people not religion.
If you were to examine each religion you would find that they generally are opposed to violence, it's the way people use their religions to 'justify' their own violent behaviour's that causes the violence to be associated with religious beliefs.
Religion is a cause that is deemed to be acceptable for strong belief, and the violence associated with it is encouraged by a minority of zealots.

No this is not because of religions but because of "Space"
Everybody wants his Space to grow but this time round one wishes to grow extremely fast which causes hatredness. The most simple example for "space" problem can be seen in 'Office' and in the 'Parking Slot'.

Because people dont beleive in god but believe in his followers.First of all one should believe in god and what he did and not what the preachers are telling you about god.God never killed any body but took the pain of others and gifted life, then how can a follower of god can demand to kill people in the name of god.
Its up to the people just not to follow preachers blindfoldly but with your open eyes and ears and ask his heart ,am I going in the right direction or not.

No, its being caused by politicians, rulers and bad leaders. Those who hide in secured houses whilst other fight thier pointless battles for them.
NO one will war, or want to kill anyone else (unless they are sick).
Greed causes all this, get rid of money and one mans power over another and the killing will stop, after all why kill if there´s nothing to kill for!"!!
