Take it in for a tune up.

Tune ups, fuel filters, EGR valves, vacuum leaks - all 100% wrong.

Every single symptom you described can be explained by a transmission fault. None of them can be explained by the other nonsense posted above. If this isn't a tranny problem I'll shoot myself in the head.

Time to take it to the local tranny shop.

It sounds as if the transmissions valve body ( the mechanism that takes fluid & controls it's movement to diff. parts of the trans. for the abilty to shift properly) is either sticking or stuck. usually this is due to varnish buildup or faulty valve component.
Ok so what can u do. Go to a transmission shop. Most of the big name shops are reliable & you can check with the BBB for their info.

Sounds like a vaccum leak or a bad EGR. You can take the vaccum line off of the EGR and plug it with a screw (the vaccum line, not the EGR). If your car runs smooth, your EGR is bad. I usually just leave it disconnected as it is nothing more than a waste of metal and rubber. As old as this car is, I would bet that the vaccum lines are dry-rotted like crazy. Unleaded fumes destroy rubber in vaccum lines, fuel lines, and tranny lines after about 10 years. Good luck.

Clutch plates are worn.
It's these things: http://www.frictionproducts.com/gifs/clutch-plate1.jpg
Replacement will be approx. $300.
(So indeed, it has to do with the tranny/transmission.)

Unneeded wear can be caused by: pushing the gas pedal deeply, while a too low gear is selected.
Example: if you have manual gears, and have selected the 3nd gear, and the speed is approx. 20mph, you better can go to 2nd before accelerating.

Very shortly, if you continue without repairs, driving will be impossible.

well get ready to trade in soon. real soon your transmission is about to quit. so hurry on down to your nearest car dealer for the best value in your trade while it will still move. ur fuses have nothing to do with it. just trade it now while u can, ok?
