I'm totally with you!
I always have plenty of food around, so I don't fuss over feeding anyone. LOL!
And as far as how clean my house is, well, I figure, if they're close enough friends/family to be comfortable dropping in, then they're close enough to know that my house is usually in some level of chaos. They come to see us, not to see if I've dusted the windowsills lately.

I Hate drop ins. I would prefer a call, or the way I see it, a Warning.

I hate drop ins! I'm a little obsessive compulsive when it comes to the cleanliness of my house. Even if I've just cleaned the day before, if I know someone is coming to my house I'll do it all over again. I also hate it when my fiance's family drops in because they never knock, they just walk right in.

Well, since I'm seldom dressed for company, I prefer a call first. Also, it gives me time to make tea and clean the weeks newspapers off the couch so there's somewhere to sit!
