No, different breeds of cattle have different colours and coat patterns, regardless of sex. The reason most black and white cattle (dairy cattle) you see are female is because they are used for thier superior milk production there are still males of the same color but they are not kept with the females and are usually slaughtered as veal before reaching 6 weeks old. Breeds like Angus, Hereford, Guernsey they are all the same colours whether they are male or female.
Think of it this way, all German Shepherd dogs are generally the same colors and pattern whether they are male or female because they are the same breed. The same rule applies to cattle. There are many breeds of cattle and both sexes will be whatever colour is usual for that breed.

Some people who have attempted to answer this question need to get their facts right.. there are 2 breeds of black and white cows.. Belted Galloway's and Friesian... i think you mean the latter... Friesians you tend to see will be mainly female due to the farm's use for them.. Holstein Friesians are the most common milking cow.. thus meaning they are female.. the brown cow's or bulls you are referring to will generally be one of 2 breeds but there are obviously more.. they will either Herefords or Limousin's.. both of these bulls produce quality beef cattle which is a bonus for dairy farmers who just need to have cattle lactating...to produce milk.. Hope this is all a little clearer for you..

Please note that black and white cows ARE NOT jerseys - they are fresians (standard milk cows). Jerseys and Guernseys are fawny brown with dark brown or black legs, ends of tails and around their eyes and noses. They are almost identical but Guernseys are slightly smaller and produce creamier milk (although Jersey milk is also far more creamy than fresian milk).
The colour of a cow has no effect on its sex - breed determins colour (i.e. herefords are chestnut and white, charolais are cream, fresians are black and white etc etc)

Black and white are" jerseys" and it depend on what hanging if they are cows or bulls. The brown and white are "Gurnseys" I think but again it depends on the attachments to determine sex. Since I've only gotten my milk from bottles or cartons, so as to breeds,i'm only 50% sure. But as to sex , I'm right.

Very funny. Female cows can have horns too, you know (farmers usually take out the horns) and bulls can be de-horned too. Why waste time on here like that?
