Very true. When you read a report from iraq or Afgahnastan the news never states that today Christian soldiers from the coalition killed several insurgents. Rather they report that the coalition forces killed several muslim insurgents or Islamic extremists.

Some crimes are of a religious nature like for example Theo Van Gogh, a famous director, was murdered after he submitted his film portraying violence against women in Islamic countries. Terrorists kill in the name of their God and when they murder the enemy they claim to go to heaven. Of course some normal people, of Muslim faith, may feel offended or treated unfair, but thats their perception. I think the public has the right to know about such things. Plus if Muslims feel treated badly in Europe, which from my point of view would be a huge exaggeration, nobody forces them to stay here. They can come back from where they came from. I see nothing wrong about disclosing someone's nationality or religious orientation of one dares to commit a crime. If one had the cheek to commit a crime, let them face the consequences of it. Sometimes I get the impression that criminals have more rights than victims...

Because it's often pertinent to the crime commited - ie TERRORISM. The media tends not to cover minor crimes like shoplifting.
And what exactly do you mean by 'anyone can make a mistake?' You mean a mistake like flying a plane full of innocent people into a building full of innocent people? Or detonating bombs on a public mass transit system? Yeah, I **** up like that all the damn time...

Simple answer. Because Muslims are the only ones in present day who kill in the name of their God. Their motivation is religion.
How the EFF can you distance the 7/7 bombers away from religion? The motive plain and simple, AND they even said it in their matyr videos that it was to "blow up as many innocent people as possible in the name of Allah."
You are just trying to be a PC police or just have no plain common sense.

I think there's a deliberate effort to try and create a hatred towards Muslims. It could be because of the corrupt foreign policies that the US and UK carry out and disrupt the Middle East.
It's wrong and prejudiced.
Most intelligent people see through the media and political propaganda and don't hold and prejudice against any race or faith.
Sadly, some people are too dumb to think for themselves and just repeat tabloid junk. People that read a column in the Sun and then think they're an expert in Islam are just idiots.
UPDATE - May's comments below are a perfect example of a confused Muppet. A Muslim is a person that follows Islam, therefore Muslims can't go back to where they came from just because they're Muslim. British Muslims have as much right to be in Britain as you. I'm a white Christian male, just like Tony Blair - so should the public judge me on Blair's criminal war in Iraq? May - you are the weakest link. Goodbye.

Terrorists perform their terrorist acts because of THEIR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS. This is why it is equated with their religion. Now, I think it needs to be said that these people are Muslim Extremists. Most Muslims, in my opinion want peace. The extremists are FOOLS. And since you excuse terrorist acts by saying that "anyone can make a mistake" I wonder if you might be one too.

Well that happens because they are usually arrested for a crime that has a religious side to it like the cowardly London bombers.
You wont hear about a muslim shoplifter in the news because his religion has no relevance to that crime .

good question. i imagine of it as propaganda. this is operating, only look on the morons who typhoon Yahoo!solutions generalizing about a million.5 billion human beings because of stuff some thousand criminals do. this is less demanding to justify wars once you depict an entire us of a/race/faith as evil.

Muslims have the highest relative crime rates and lowest employment rates. That community is therefore of concern, particularly as it is very often religously motivated crime.
There are mentions of crime relating to other religions, but Muslims appear to be the biggest area of concern.
The Government stats website has removed the original stats on this, but you can buy them:
