they were optional equipment. but, you gotta admit, they look a ton better with them than without .

1978 Corvette Silver Anniversary
received a major aerodynamic restyling, but did not include spoilers. inside received padded instrument panel with face-mounted round instruments tinted glass lift-out roof panels

no the 78 corvette came with just the rear spoiler

not all of them did it was part of a trim option
