I have an essay for my exam in "Narrative" I have to analyse a story or a movie. what should I choose.
I was thinking about Black hawk down as it is a good classic realism, otherwise I had a drama play in my mind as well; the misantrhope by moliere.
But im not sure..

Rain Man might be an excellent movie to analyze. Also consider As Good As It Gets. Both look at disorders (autism spectrum disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder) that have not been well understood by society.

I've seen "Black Hawk Down" and can tell you that it is very gory and graphic, also really gross in some parts and it's not a very good movie to write an essay on, if you're grossed out easily.
A really good movie to analyze, in terms of classic realism is concerned, in my opinion, is "Grizzly Man", because it contains the actual footage of the real Timothy Treadwell - no actor portraying him - and as far as realism is concerned, I don't think that things get any more "real" than that.
Of course, another good movie that portrays the realism of living with a mental illness is "A Beautiful Mind".

If you have to analyze a story *or* a movie, you would probably get a good grade if you analyzed James Dickey's Deliverance and the movie adaptation. The two are starkly different, and the book is a very interesting book, especially if you like the primal instincts of man.

Deliverance offers: pop culture explanation, complexity, universal themes, very interesting, and a compare and contrast between book and movie with societal explanations.

This would be a good way to get a good grade.

How about a classic film such as "12 Angry Men" or "The Last Hurrah"?
