If your daughter can't afford child care or has to work odd hours to support herself and the baby then I would say help out for a little while, but don't let her take advantage of you. The 1st comment was quite rude...yes you are her mother and a grandmother but that doesn't mean that you have to put your whole life on hold. Like I said before, help her out until she can get on her own two feet, but don't just babysit b/c she wants to go to the club...if your daughter needs to work and is trying to better her life then by all means watch your grandaughter, but give her a time frame..."i'll do this for you for 1 year, but no more".

I'm sure i'll get a lot of crap for telling you this, but I've seen my grandmother and a lot of my older relatives get taken advantage of. Its great if family can help you, but you have to draw the line in the sand.

If it's because of financial constraints on her part youre wrong because you should help her. It's okay to sit and home and do things with the baby 2 days a week. If she jus doesn't want the child to go to a daycare then she needs to deal with that and let you have a life.

Did you mean daughter?

Do you have any grandchildren?

I can't believe you'd actually put your social life with your new husband over helping your daughter ..or your grandchild.

Why does she want you to watch the baby ? Does she work ?

Is it out of need?

If I could stay home and watch my granddaughter, I'd jump at the chance... I love her with all my heart..as I do my daughter.

My husband enjoys spending time with our granddaughter.

Our whole life has changed...but we are blessed...as are you.
