I have a dell computer, windows 2000 professional and I need to go back right to the beginning of my computer, Norton GoBack only seems to be able to go back a couple of days. I need to go back to the original setting but I'm unsure how to do it...
Assistance will be appreciated :)

Put in the disk that came with your computer. You will lose everything.

The only way to completely do this would be to reinstall windows from the windows CD or recovery CD. If doing this then back everything up to CD or DVD.

Windows Xp also has a system restore that you could try however this may not allow to go back to beginning.

Another option would be to uninstall all programs, set up a new user profile then reinstall everything you need and delete the old profile. This would give a fresh profile and remove unneeded programs

I'm not totally sure that Windows 2000 has it, but have you tried System Restore? Go to start, accessories, system tools, then system restore. If it's not there then this idea won't work, but if it is, try setting it to the date when you got the computer.

You can back up all your files on CD or DVD-RW and then Erase and reinstall Windows 2000. Or you can check accessories-System folder and choose, system restore and go back.
