No, but they need help making the playoffs. "needing help" is actually a term used with regards to teams that do not control their own destiny. What it basically means is it's not enough for them to win all their remaining games, the teams above them need to lose some, most, or all of their remaining games as well.
In the case of your hypothetical 5-7 team, if they win out the rest of the season, they will finish 9-7. This could be good enough to earn a Wild Card spot. Look at the conferrence that this team is in, and look at the other teams with 5-7 or better records. Four of them will win their divisions, and not be involved in the Wild Card battle. The two best teams left after these four will earn Wild Card berths and play in the first week of the playoffs.

Not if they are in the NFC, because if they win their next four games they will be 9-7 and have a chance to make the playoffs. In the AFC they would be extremely lucky to make the playoffs at 9-7 so if it is an AFC team they have only a minute chance, but a NFC team still has a chance.

Steelers perfect Win: A 37-36 victory over the fairway Bay Packers, in a strictly offensive recreation between both communities. both QB's performed lighting fixtures out. Ben Roethlisberger threw 503 yards, and interior the severe seconds threw a recreation winning landing bypass to Mike Wallace, with a good capture on Wallace's section. Worst loss: Wow, this kind of vast quantity of for the Steelers. i am going to assert the Browns. We couldn't prepare not a million landing stress, dropping 13-6. credit to the Browns D, they close out the offense. yet, that replaced right into a absolute pathetic loss and attempt with techniques from the Steelers. somewhat a lot summed up the season for the Steelers, as pathetic.

5-7 teams aren't out of playoff contention but it's an uphill climb. There's more of a chance in the NFC because it's a qweaker conference. Miami, Buffalo and Tennessee are the 5-7 teams in the AFC. None of them will make it because they aren't good teams. San Francisco and St. Louis are the ones in the NFC. They aren't good either. I'd say none of those five teams will make it.

Depends on what the other teams in their divisions record is.
If the other teams had say recoords of
4-8
3-9
2-10
They would be the divisionj leader and probably make the playoffs.
