What gave the Romans the right to build on Jewish land?
What gave the Byzantines the right to build on Roman land?
What gave the Muslims the right to build on Byzantine land?
What gave the Ottoman Turks the right to build on Muslim land?
Do you see the utter stupidity of your question?

Israel is no less illegal than Jordan, Iraq, Congo, Chile, or Canada. The UK were in fact owners of Palestine as part of the Ottoman surrender after WW1. They gave 80% to become (Trans)Jordan, and the rest was to be a Jewish state. Try learning some damn history before making moronic claims like yours.

BTW, Pakistan was carved out of India and given to the Muslims. Is that an illegal state too, or just the one with the Jewish majority?

Anya says: Why didn't the Germans give the Jews a home? I have a two-fold answer, religious and political. First, the Jews have no religious connection to Germany. The Jewish Holy City is Jerusalem, just as the Catholic Holy City is the Vatican. Should the Vatican be moved to, say, Beijing, just because it is politically expedient? Second, even if the Jews were given part of Soviet East Germany, how long do you think it would have been before some European power invaded and started planning the next Holocaust?

It belonged to the Jews 2000 years ago, but how would you be expected to remember that fact! They, with support from the UN reclaimed their land following WWII.

This has nothing to do with power and law. It does have to do with justice. The Palestinians were not the owner of these lands, they were squatters on the land of the Jews. Justice has been served.

This whole matter can be resolved once the Palestinians quit listening to the militant Hamas movement and sit down and reason with Israel. Look at all the wasted time and energy already wasted while the Palestinians listened to Yassar Arafat and his militant approach to the matter. Once he died, things began to happen because the Palestinians choose a leader in Abbas, that could reason and effectively negotiate with Israel.

Why don't the Palestinians let the Abbas effort play out? Instead, you bring the Fatah movement into political power, thus destroying all the gains that were being made, losing sympathy of world opinion, losing foreign aid, re-igniting the border clashes with Israel, and playing into the hands of Ahmadinejad, the Persian! That's right, Ahmadinejad! This is who is behind the whole middle east crises, and the sooner you people wake up to that fact the better off you will be!

Your awfully illogical for claiming to be logical. Read a history book. The UN, not the Brits, gave them the right. Was it right and fair? Probably not but the UN doesn't really serve humanity as it was originally set up to due. It has become just another ineffectual, corrupt, bureaucratic machine. As for war and the legal system, two different things. Did Saddam ask the UN for permission to invade Kuwait? In fact, the US and it's Western allies are probably the only countries that notify the UN of when military actions are going to take place. You need an education.

There is not a country on the face of this planet that has not been established by conquest or rebellion. It has happened since man first began to fashion weapons of war. Legality is merely an abstract concept created by man to control the masses, just like good, evil and religion, all creations of man. The powers that be, what ever an whom ever it be will only concern them selves with these abstract concepts when it suits their purposes.

All nations are guilty of conquest not just Isreal. Wether its the Norman invasion of the saxons or the US conquest of the Native American Indians. It has happened in the past and it will happen in the future and there isn't a whole lot anyone can do about it. So stop obsessing over something you don't have any control over and just accept it, be cause you sure as h*ll can't do anything about it.

False analogy.

Iraq is an independant country. It was so in Sadaam's regime and it is so right now.

This was not the case here. The territory that used to be called Palestine that used to belong to the British Empire used to belong to the Ottoman Empire. It was never an independant state.
Now, if you want to call Israel occupiers, do you then call the British Empire occupiers? What about the Ottoman Empire? What about Jordan in the West Bank? Are they occupiers too?
And how can one be an occupier of a country that wasn't even a country?
And where was the Arab nationlist movement that was trying to rectify the "horrible injustice" of having the West Bank ruled by Jordan?

It seems to me that the Arabs there have no problem if others are ruling there, they only have problems with Jews.

My question has always been 'why didn't the Germans give the Jews a home'? They did it. So the only conclusion can be they were placed there to cause chaos. There is money to be made in chaos
