Because men are afraid of intellegence and have used their brute force to kick women into submission for thousands of years. It will turn around though. Women will eventually win the battle for equality...we're making progress daily and will continue to achieve power when we refuse to be afraid and intimidated by men.

Men are scared of women and have been since the existance of time. Its time women quit being afraid of men and rise to our rightful places and quit thinking of ourselves as number two in anything!

People who don't think women are considered "Number 2", can look at our government and our churches...who has leadership roles...mostly white men. The leadership positions are not corresponding to our population..most Americans are female and non white. When our leadership reflects the population, then you will know there is balance in the United States. White men are still number one in areas where control is best maintained...church and politics and medicine (most doctors are white men too but progress is being made in all areas).

People who say they haven't noticed that women are number two in America are walking around with their eyes closed! People who think they are patronizing women by saying "I think woman are number 1" aren't voting where their mouth is. They think women are number 1 as sex kittens and that is all.

Don't kid yourself...just because society will open a door for a woman, pull out a chair for a woman and help a woman with her coat is no indication that they don't think of her as second rate. when they put women in leadership, that will be when they think of women as first rate. They haven't done that yet and it shows who Americans think is best. Cave man attitudes still in the 21st century!

whilst have adult men, as a gender, been seen 2d-classification electorate. Non-white adult men have been seen 2d-classification electorate, besides the shown fact that it had no longer something to do with being adult men and each thing to do with being black/Asian/Latino/Indian, etc. women human beings, on the different hand, have consistently been seen 2d-classification electorate because of fact of their gender.
